Sheep killed by grazing Bt-cotton

Literally hundreds of sheep in India have been killed by grazing on lands were Bt-cotton were planted. Around 25% of the sheep died after grazing Bt-cotton.

Seems a bit crazy, does it not?

Read the report on the preliminary assessment.

Mortality in Sheep Flocks after grazing on Bt Cotton fields
– Warangal District, Andhra Pradesh, April, 2006.

Bt-cotton is a kind of GMO in which the cotton epxresses a toxin from the bacteria Bacillus Thuringiensis.

A recent Greenpeace report also points at the overall bad performance of this kind of GMO.
