FDA in Third World Drug Trial Scandals
*******************************
Experimental tests are conducted in developing countries on
sick and vulnerable children under the guise of free and
ethical treatments sanctioned by the FDA and complicit
medical institutions. Sam Burcher and Dr. Mae-Wan Ho
Unapproved GM rice serum tested on sick infants
Two children suffered serious allergic reactions after being
used as guinea pigs by the California-based company Ventria
Bioscience in Lima, Peru [1]. The children were part of a
clinical trial of a genetically modified (GM) rice serum
containing two synthetic human proteins lactoferrin and
lysozyme (normally found in human milk and other bodily
fluids), not yet approved for testing in the US or anywhere
else in the world.

thanks for the tip but a certain Luigi Mario beat you to it. i am not that often in vn gaia ... have you been there, in the quintinha i mean ...
No, not yet, I only learned about it a few days ago when trying to apply for Quercus membership. In the website they don't seem to allow online applications. I have written an e-mail but have got no answer back yet.
well quercus does not usually answer emails, at least they have NEVER answered my emails. a couple on various subjects but no response, ever. so i dunno why they have email since they do not make use of it ...
although they have an email list so I wonder if they are more interested in one way communication? a bit odd for an ngo ...
Do you guys remember when, in the USA, ppl where air sprayed with DDT in the midle of the streets? :| just to prove it was sfae but no one had, at the time, tested long term exposure to the same chemical. Years later people developed cardiac insuficiencies and abortions. Farmaceutical companies at the moment cant test with humans, and its a multi billion business, so they cant risk killing people...at least popel at developed countries :\. Thats the sad true. Its like that company that's owned by Dick Chenney, and it owns the exclusive to the Bird Flu's medication...after long months of fear input thru their own government...
...so at the moment instead of public testing they use poor countries has their oen guinea pigs and most of the times, with countries government contribution.
never heard about that ddt spraying.
but they did spray something when they realised that the nile red virus had spread to the us.
if you wanna talk about epidemic proportions of guinea pig use maybe it is time to mention the very hard opposition from CEFIC and the chemical industry to imposing decent rules regarding testing and approval of chemical in use (and future use) in the EU? the so called REACH legislation.
now with literally hundreds of thousands of chemicals being in touch with us every in the atmosphere, in toys, computers and food one would have hoped that would be prudent to test all that stuff.
but no according to CEFIC.
or else all of us are guinea pigs in a giant but not very well planned chemical exposure experiment ...
